    Mimi’s Café
    The Naperville outpost of Mimi’s Cafe, which has enjoyed a popular
    presence in warmer locales such as Arizona and Florida for 30
    years. Like all Mimi’s Cafes, this spot exudes charm. Its exterior is
    modeled after a quaint French cottage, and the interior has a New
    Orleans bistro-style atmosphere featuring jazz influenced decor. In
    addition to its southern devotees, Mimi’s Cafe is quickly drawing
    loyal fans of all ages with its diverse menu that includes chicken
    pot pie, lamb shank and Cajun blackened salmon, plus low-carb
    and low-fat offerings for the health conscious.

    La Magdalena
    This Mexican eatery offers the usual burritos, tamales, tacos and
    fajitas, as well as steaks, chops, and rotisserie chicken. There are
    also fish and shrimp dishes and authentic Mexican breakfasts, including
    huevos racheros, served all day. On weekends, the large
    bar is packed with hungry diners waiting for a table.

    Bonefish Grill
    The menu here features a rotating selection of grilled fresh fish
    choices (like rainbow trout, red snapper an ahi tuna); select your
    fish and then pick a sauce (such as warm mango salsa or lime
    tomato garlic). There’s plenty of non-fish fare as well.

    Stonewood Ale House
    The large American menu here includes burgers, steaks, seafood,
    pasta, salads and sandwiches. Comfort foods also get menu play
    with choices like pot roast and meatloaf. Decor highlights include
    stone fireplaces and woody accents and the bar is fitted with high definition plasma TVs.

    Clara’s
    Family pictures adorn the walls at this comfortable restaurant
    tucked into a strip mall, and chances are at least one will seem familiar
    to you. It’s the portrait of Celeste Lizio, otherwise known as
    Mama Celeste, of frozen food fame. Clara Melchiorre is Lizio’s
    daughter, and she has inherited her mother’s talent for feeding
    friends and family with fresh and hearty Italian fare. Most pastas
    are made at the Woodridge restaurant, and can be purchased by the
    pound. Lasagna, available in traditional, Florentine and primavera
    (vegetable) preparations, is the most popular menu choice. Chicken
    parmigiana is a close second. But dozens of other dishes abound,
    including calamari, tortellini, ravioli, sandwiches served on housemade
    focaccia, salads and pizza.

    Adler Planetarium
    Have you ever wondered what star or constellation you are looking
    at during the night? Well you can now find out by joining us to a trip
    to the Adler Planetarium. Admission to the museum is free, but you
    can purchase tickets to see some of their special exhibits.

    Peggy Notebaert Nature Museum
    The Chicago Academy of Sciences and its Peggy Notebaert Nature

    programs to students and teachers, by offering Museum exhibitions
    and conducting public programs that foster green living, and by

    Chicago Botanic Garden
    See all the beautiful flowers in bloom this spring at the Chicago
    Botanic Garden. This 385-acre world-renowned garden is the most
    visited garden in the country. For an additional fee, you can take a
    narrated tram ride and dine at the Garden Café.

    Taste of the City Northside
    Join with About Tours on this tasty tour of Chicago’s north side
    neighborhoods. You will swoon over the sticky, sinful cinnamon
    rolls at Ann Sathers, right in the middle of the Wrigleyville neighborhood, where you will also see historic Wrigley Field, and hear
    why a goat might be to blame for the Cubs record. You will go to
    Uptown, to Chicago’s second Chinatown, and have a dim sum
    lunch. You will also see the upscale Lincoln Park area, and stop at
    magnificent Elks National Memorial Building in Chicago. Then
    it’s on to Old Town for melt-in-your-mouth chocolate fudge from a
    shop that has become a neighborhood favorite.
