Gymnastics is a wonderful and fun way for young children to experience
many varieties of physical activities. Your little star will
learn gymnastic positions, skills, and movements that will develop
coordination, strength, balance, and self-confidence. The staff at
Aerial Gym Stars uses safe, progressive, and positive teaching
techniques appropriate for each age group. Attire: Instructors suggest
shorts, and shirts without snaps, buttons, or zippers for safety.

It’s our 20th Anniversary! This multi-day workshop will expand
your Preschoolers’ image vocabulary as they learn valuable motor
skills and drawing techniques. Engaging subject matter will encourage
their active imaginations. Large format drawings will include
animals, monsters and other whimsical characters. Basic
skills combine with exciting drawings! Important skills to prepare
for elementary school. Students use a variety of media to help
build drawing concepts and skills-all while having fun!
This program gives you and your child an opportunity to bond and
have fun together while learning a variety of sports. This class is
great for simple motor skills such as; catching, throwing, batting,
shooting, passing, and anything that involves hand-eye coordination.
Parents participate with the child as we play soccer, basketball,
hockey, t-ball, and many other sports. Equipment: Provided
This fun filled class teaches little superstars the importance of
teamwork and sportsmanship, while attempting to spark an interest
in kids to play a variety of sports. Sports covered will be favorites
like: basketball, hockey, soccer, baseball, football, and many more.

This program is designed to teach children the basics of soccer in a
fun and exciting way. Dribbling, passing, and shooting will be covered
through fun games that keep everyone moving. This class is
great for coordination and self-esteem. The main objective is to

This national program has been developed by educators to engage
inquisitive minds and has been featured on CNN and in Parents
Magazine. Children will explore exciting computer activities in a
small interactive group, using a laptop computer and educational
software. According to the Pediatrics Medical Journal, “Computers
boost pre-schoolers’ intelligence. Children with ready access to
computers scored an average of 12 points higher on IQ tests”. Our
programs encourage reading readiness, math readiness, creativity
and teamwork, to help prepare your child for the future. Students

Dinosaur Train
Come with Buddy and his family as they embark on adventures
through the jungle. We will eat pizza for lunch, make a craft, and
play prehistoric games.
Does your child love looking at bugs outside? Do they always ask
questions about different bugs? If so, this would be a great class
for your child. Each class we will learn about a new and unusual
bug. We will make a craft and have a snack.
Grab your cape, your mask and come help us solve the top-secret
assignment each week. We will read a story about one of our
favorite Superhero’s, play some fun action packed games and
create an energetic super supper to fuel our body and help us take
on the bad guys.
Come spend some extra time with your child in this energizing class. We will use scooters, hula hoops, parachutes and more in the gym to release some energy.
It may be a small world but with our digital microscope, we will be
able to see it in action! Our young scientists will observe and
collect information about natural & manmade specimens as they
learn more about the microscopic world around them. Using
digital editing techniques, students will explore how to change
these specimens into creative works of art.
Moms and dads come spend some extra time with your child. You
and your child will be able to use different equipment in the gym

If your child loves kicking the ball around, sign them up for this
class. They will learn how to dribble, pass, and shoot the ball.
Classes are designed to improve listening skills, enhance physical
development and learn about teamwork.
In this class we will have fun learning letters and their sounds.
Each week we will read a different book pertaining to our letter of
the day, complete worksheets, make a craft and have a snack.
Parents, do you need some time to yourself? Drop your child(ren)
off at the park district for a couple of hours so you can run errands
or just relax. Each week we will play games, have a snack, and
make a craft.
In this class children will learn about safety, equipment, types of
fish in the pond and the rules of fishing. They will also learn the
love of the sport by fishing at our lake. Don’t worry if you don’t
have a pole, the park district has loaner poles available for you to
borrow. Fee includes the cost of a YCPD fishing permit, bait, and
a snack.
If your child adores everything under the sea, this class is for you.
Come enjoy a variety of crafts and activities that deal with our favorite
fish under the sea. Run around in the gym as we play seaweed
tag, and cool off as we enjoy a fresh watering snack.
Get ready for summer T-ball with this instructional baseball program.
Children will learn the basic fundamentals of throwing, catching, hitting, and basic baseball knowledge. Age appropriate equipment will be used for safety. Children should bring their own baseball glove.

This class incorporates music and dance to grow your child’s social,
emotional, and physical developmental skills. Each class consists
of a warm-up, games, and creative dance activities. A class
designed to channel your child’s raw energy! (Parents are welcome
to come 10 to 15 minutes early the last week of class to see “The
Show”!)
Girls have you always wished you could learn cheers and pom routines
just like the older girls, but there wasn’t a class available for
your age group? Well now is your chance! Have a great time
learning simple cheers, partner stunts and an awesome pom routine.
No experience is necessary. All you need to do is bring your
strong voice and enthusiastic spirit. If you have taken our class in
the past, rest assured that we will have a completely different program
this time around. Each participant will need a set of poms by
the second class. We will have inexpensive poms available for purchase
in class. A parent must be present at the first class to sign a
waiver to learn more about our cheer program.
This is a class for children who love helping out in the kitchen. We
learn kitchen safety and table manners while making delicious
snacks to share with the family. Please wear an apron or play
clothes, we may get messy.
Not ready for summer yet? Bring your child to the park district for
some more practice with counting and colors. Each day we will
read a story, make a craft and have a snack. Preschool skills will

If your child needs to burn off some energy before summer starts
bring them to the park district. We will play games and run around
in the gym. If the weather is nice, we will also go outside. Please

What a great way to celebrate the beginning of Memorial Weekend!
Bring your favorite American Girl Doll or your favorite doll
to the park district for some fun and games. We will have a fashion
show, read an American Girl story, play some games, make a
matching craft for you and your doll, and of course create an all
American favorite snack.
Do you need something to give to your sweetie? Join us as we decorate
cupcakes and cookies with sprinkles, frosting and more. We
will wrap up some treats to give to your Valentine and we will also
snack on your creations. Please wear an apron or play clothes.
Join Clifford the Big Red Dog for Valentine’s Day. We will watch
My Big Red Valentine, and read Clifford’s Valentine, make a craft
and eat a sweet Valentine treat.
We will celebrate St. Patrick’s Day like real Leprechauns. We will
make a craft, play some games, and have mini corn beef sandwiches
and french fries for lunch. Don’t forget to wear your favorite
green outfit.
Hop into this exciting class and help the Easter Bunny decorate
Easter eggs. Each child will get a dozen eggs to color and decorate.
All supplies will be provided. Please wear play clothes, we
may get messy!
Baby Bugs gets together with his Looney Tune friends to search
for the Easter Bunny and prove to Daffy he exists. We will watch
The Baby Looney Tune’s Eggs-Traordinary Adventure, make a
craft and eat macaroni and cheese for lunch.
Join us for a fiesta at the park district! We will start the class off
making and decorating maracas. Then we will have nachos for
lunch. We will finish our fiesta with breaking a piñata filled with
candy and prizes.
Show your mom or grandma how much you love them by making
them a special gift. Children will use their creativity and love to
make a special card and gift for Mother’s Day. A snack will be
served.
Spend a chilly afternoon at the park district. We will make some
hot cocoa and make homemade cookies. While we are waiting for
our cookies to bake we will make some cool, usable crafts. Don’t
worry, we will save some cookies to take home.
Come dressed to play in the snow. We will celebrate the cold
weather playing different games outside. We will also make a
sparkly snowflake craft, and have pizza for lunch.
Don’t hibernate anymore this winter! Come out and Play! Groundhogs
love grass and berries so we will make strawberry sundaes,
hunt for shadows, play hide and seek, read It’s Groundhog Day by
Steven Kroll and watch a special Winnie the Pooh movie. A fun
way to spend Groundhog Day!
Howdy Partner! Grab your cowboy hat and cowboy boots and
come ready for some country western fun. We will make a country
western craft, learn some line dances, and eat nuggets and fries.
If you loved the Beach Party Barbeque this past summer, then you
will have a great time at this party! Bring your dream house, horse,
or pink Corvette for Barbie and her friends to play with. Dress
your doll up in her best outfit for a fashion show. We will watch a
Barbie movie and finger sandwiches will be served.
Join Tinker Bell and all her fairy friends for a magical adventure.
We will decorate a fairy wand and have finger sandwiches for
lunch. We will also play some fairy games in the gym.
Come celebrate the start of warm weather! We will play tag
games, and t-ball outside if the weather is nice. We will also make
a flower craft and eat Spaghetti-O’s for lunch.
If you loved the last party, don’t miss this one. Come dressed like
Hannah Montana or Miley Cyrus and win a prize for the best costume.
We will sing Hannah’s favorite songs and prizes will be
awarded for best singing performance. We will make a fabulous
tye dye tank top and pose for your very own magazine cover. We
will finish the class with eating some of Miley’s favorite foods like
chicken, and macaroni and cheese.
Earth day is a special day to help take care of our planet. Celebrate
by coming to the park district to honor the 40th Anniversary of
Earth Day. We will make a craft out of recycled materials, plant a
tree, go on a nature walk and eat an organic snack.
Start your engines! Come to the park district for this action packed
party. We will make a car craft and have grilled cheese for lunch.
After lunch we will play racing games outside at the park.
You are never too young to learn to play t-ball! Children
will be taught the basics of t-ball such as catching, hitting,
throwing and base running. Participants will learn batting
skills by hitting a rag ball off a tee. All children will receive
a t-shirt, but must provide their own mitt. Fee includes:
instruction, t-shirt and awards. An evening game will be
played followed by an awards presentation and picnic at the
end of the season. Each parent will supply a team snack
once during the season. A list will be handed out on the first
day. We try our best to accommodate roster and team
suggestions. Due to the number of children we cannot
guarantee all requests.
