Help York Center as it preserves our natural environment this
spring! Come join us as we tend to our prairie restoration area at
Knolls Park. We’ll pull non-native plants, pick up garbage, and
trim branches. This is a great way for Boy Scouts and Girls Scouts
to earn their environmental patches. After we clean the prairie path
we will enjoy a picnic in the park. A hotdog meal will be provided
for all that helped clean the prairie.
Bring the whole family out for a some fishing fun. Come catch the
big one! We have fishing poles you can use. You supply the fishing
talent. Just call the park district at (630) 629-08886 to let us know
you are coming to fish so we can have the poles and bait ready for

Fishing tips.
Earth day is a special day to help take care of our planet. Celebrate
by coming to the park district to honor the 40th Anniversary
of Earth Day. We will make a craft out of recycled materials, plant
a tree, go on a nature walk and eat an organic snack.
Come have brunch with the YCPD Bunny! A delicious buffet of old fashioned pancakes, sausages, fruit, and pastries will be served. All registered children will be able to participate in the famous egg hunt. Bring a basket to collect your eggs. During the brunch children will be able to have their picture taken with the Bunny and enjoy some special entertainment. Seating is assigned, so take note of the “Register By” date this event. When registering, please note all the names in the party. A special registration form will be available at the front desk.

Come spend some extra time with your son(s) at the park district. There will be a DJ, Rock Band, Karaoke, and different games will be played throughout the night for prizes. Pizza and pop will be served. This is a great way to spend Spring Break with your son(s). Female chaperones only. Please wear comfortable shoes.

Do you want to be a fireman or policeman? Did you ever want to see a big truck up close and have the opportunity to climb aboard? Now is your chance to come join us as we fill up a parking lot with big trucks and police vehicles. There will be hands on experiences as
participants can crawl around and learn more about the heavy duty trucks! A variety of fire trucks, police cars, and vehicles will join us for this special event!
Teens have you ever dreamed of playing in front of hundreds of people. Well, now is you chance! York Center and Oakbrook Terrace Park
District will be holding a local Battle Of The Bands and the winner will go and play at a regional competition and maybe even a chance to play
at the state competition. Bands must have their packets turned in by Friday, May 21. Register now before there are no more spots available.
